Requirements to Trainees
- EOD level 2 certificate or 4 years of proven practical experience.
- Medical certificate.
- Criminal record.
Format
Course consists from lectures, practical exercises and evaluation tests.
Result
After successfully passing final test student will receive PSSM Certificate.
To instruct students in the required knowledge, skills & attitude necessary to perform the duties & tasks of a ammunition management operator, so that you can conduct safe operational activities in accordance with the United Nations (UN) International Ammunition Technical Guidelines (IATG’s) & International Mine Action Standards (IMAS) and the stipulations laid down by the individual National Mine Action Authority (NMAA)
On successful completion of the course, you will have acquired the requisite knowledge, skills and attitude necessary to calculate IQDs and OQDs essential for safe storage of large stocks of ammunition, thus reducing the risk to civilian personnel living within the proximity to ammunition storage areas and reducing the chances of explosive propagation between explosive magazines. You will conduct Inspections of ammunition storage areas and advise on measures necessary to bring the storage area up to risk reduction levels 1, 2 and 3 as stipulated in UNIATGs 01.20 on HIRA (Hazard Identification Risk Assessment) and risk reduction, advise on planning an inspection and surveillance program of ammunition stocks, and plan an ammunition storage area for field storage, (up to one year duration) , temporary storage (up to five years duration) or permanent storage, for several thousands of tons of ammunition in accordance with the requirements of UNIATGs. You will also have the requisite knowledge to advise on the secure storage of SALW (Small Arms and Light Weapons) as per the relevant UN ISACS (International Small Arms Control Standards).
